As an advocate, I can help guide you through the entire educational experience, from diagnosis to adulthood.

I can help you create a vision for your child’s future by determining your priorities, goals and educational needs. I can help you create the picture of where you want your child to be when they leave school and make sure that the correct supports are in place to reach this goal.

Through a records review I can help you obtain your child’s educational records, sort through and organize those records, and help interpret the meaning of assessments and reports. Documents that may be reviewed include all special education communications and documents, including files, assessments, report cards, observation reports, etc.

I can review your child’s IEP to ensure that it is well written, that it has accurate present levels of functioning and academic performance and measurable goals; verifying that the appropriate services and supports are in place to meet those goals. I can review IEP, 504 or other documents before you sign them.

If needed, I can help find an experienced and qualified independent assessor; finding tutors, reading specialists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, or other specialists that your child may need.

I can draft formal letters, responses, and written requests to school and district officials to obtain information or services on behalf of your child.

I also help prep for and attend ARD/IEP meetings.
