New Diagnosis

When you get a new diagnosis there is a lot to learn. We take the time to listen and understand where you are in the process and help you find the right supports and services that are available in your area.

New to Texas

Navigating the systems in Texas is unique to other states. We want you to get started on the right foot and take the time to make sure you feel comfortable with the process.

Parent Support

Being a parent to a child with a disability can be rewarding and exhausting. We want you to continue to make progress on and develop personal goals that bring you joy.

ADHD Support

Children and adults with ADHD are creative and fun. We help individuals and families find the systems and processes that work best for each unique thinker and ease some of the challenges associated with ADHD.

Special Education Advocacy Services

Our advocates guide you through the entire educational experience, from diagnosis to adulthood. We provide IEP/ARD preparation, will attend your ARD or 504 meetings with you, review existing IEPs, and support your family by setting a clear plan for the needs of your student based on your vision for the future.

Educational Records

We will help you obtain your child’s educational records, sort through and organize those records, and help interpret the meaning of assessments and reports. Record review includes all special education communications and documents, including files, assessments, report cards, observation reports, etc.

IEP/504 Review

We will review your child’s IEP to ensure that it is well written, that it has accurate present levels of functioning and academic performance and measurable goals; verifying that the appropriate services and supports are in place to meet those goals. We can review IEP, 504 or other documents before you sign them.

Special Education Resources

We can also help you find an experienced and qualified independent assessor, tutors, reading specialists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, or other specialists that your child may need.

Formal Communication

We draft formal letters, responses, and written requests to school and district officials to obtain information or services on behalf of your child.

ARD/504 Meeting Attendance

Don’t go it alone. As your advocate, we will attend your ARD or 504 meetings with you and be by your side.

Special Education Advocate

If you’re looking for a special education advocate, IEP advocate, or 504 advocate in Texas, DFW Advocacy supports and empowers families throughout the special education process.

You don’t have to go it alone

We will help you create a vision for your child’s future by determining your priorities, goals and educational needs. We will help you create the picture of where you want your child to be when they leave school and make sure that the correct supports are in place to reach this goal.
